Celebrate Yourself

I'm not a plank person. And I'm even worse at doing push-ups. I always felt that my upper body was not strong enough for these exercises.

My morning movement routine includes a 1-minute plank and 10 push-ups on my knees. For the past two months I've been learning about the correct body placement, how to engage the right muscles to support the body, and practicing.

Then something wonderful happened today. I tried regular push-ups—not on my knees—and was able to complete a set of five with proper posture. Up until then, I could only move my body up and down in a wave ∼ instead of one straight line. Now I know what it feels to do a correct push-up!

As you can imagine, I was pleasantly surprised by my ability, so much so that I'm looking forward to my little movement session tomorrow morning 😊

There's a reason why I'm telling you my exercise story.

If I can do a push-up, so can you—do whatever you put your mind to! You just need to start and keep working on it. Some guidance and a little encouragement on the way are always good to have. This is when being your health coach is handy 😉 Eventually you'll be able to see and relish your progress!

Don't forget to celebrate yourself every little step of the way! What is insignificant to you might be remarkable for someone else. Every step towards a goal counts and deserves a pat on the back.

Stay healthy, stay happy!
